OVERVIEW:

 

45 years’ experience in steel industry plant engineering, maintenance and equipment design, including:

  • Overall design conception and detailed design of production equipment
  • Equipment evaluation, equipment problem-solving and re-engineering of machines and equipment

 

Bruce has performed equipment design engineering for Alcoa, Nucor, SSAB, Midrex, SMI Steel, Gerdau Ameristeel and Morgardshammar.

 

Bruce’s design experience spans rolling mills, reheat furnaces, strip processing lines, steelmaking facilities (melt shops), casters and other facilities.

 

Bruce’s hands-on knowledge of steel industry processes and equipment stems from his 8 years with Nucor Steel (Darlington, SC), as Chief Plant Engineer (1985 to 1993), and 15 years with Weirton Steel and National Steel in Weirton, WV (1970 to 1985), where he served as General Mechanical Foreman and gained extensive sintering plant and blast furnace experience.
